What kind of government allows this absurdity?

Licking is now categorized as an assault? This is absurd. Police powers have grown out of control. This government is no longer in service to the people, but the people serve the will of the government. I pledge to make a change in the culture in Austin, to have the government be in service to the people to put an end to this culture of government rulership. This is America, where we celebrate freedom and liberty, and we will return to those values. Please pass this along.

Ron Paul on the economy

This couldn't be put any better. The economy is declining due to the increased debt, and the US Government just printing up more money. The state government has the same syndrome, however Texas is one of those states which maintains a balanced budget, but we are still spending over $127.5 billion dollars on welfare and education, while our education system is 21st in the world, and other countries that are performing better in education spend only a fraction of what we spend.

Telecom Immunity Bill

Congress and the Bush administration has granted the telecom companies immunity. They don't have to answer for handing over personal records of their customers to the US Government. This immunity is also retroactive, and in effects stops the lawsuit against them for giving the US Government customer records that they requested. We may never know the extent or details of what information was handed over if this lawsuit does not continue. This new bill also opens the door for warrantless wiretapping, not only of your phone calls, but ANY electronic communication including text messages, IM, etc. This policy is an immediate danger to freedom. Our right of privacy is now stripped by the government. Our government can now spy upon it's citizens. Without any oversight this power will be abused, the only question remaining is how long until you are put under the microscope?

Bob Barr a real choice for President

I want to spread the word. There is some very exciting news. Bob Barr, who be one of three candidates on the ballot for President this year with O'Bama and McCain, will be speaking in Houston on Sunday, July 20th! Former Senator Barr's platform is based upon maintaining the balances delineated in the Constitution of the United States of America. Ensuring every American's civil liberties. Barr has been a major supporter of the ACLU, and a vehement watchdog over the abuse of power by the White House. He supports a non-intervention foreign policy with respect to use of the military. He respects the 4th amendment, the protection of citizens from unreasonable search and seizures. I ask that you give him your equal consideration with the other candidates. He is our only hope for the continued freedom of this nation.
